I asked to paint in the village, and I was taken to the heart of the rural land, where the chickens lay their eggs in buckets off the ground, in fear of the dogs.. Matshomani is a powerful SHAMAN who got dressed in her finery and hosted me in her home , where she stood proud while I was drawing her. I love the sweet smell of fire and milk inside those huts, the sound of babies and mamas chasing the dogs out. Village life. A most powerful memory. Thank you, Matshomani.
